Of Counsel

Marcia M. LaCour is an accomplished attorney with well over a decade of experience in warranty litigation and mediation. She currently serves Of Counsel at Turner Henningsen Wolf & VanDenburgh LLP (since March 2024), specializing in warranty defense litigation for Jaguar Land Rover NA and Ferrari NA. Apart from overseeing case handling, some of her responsibilities have included drafting call center protocols, advising on case handling best practices, and formulating proactive strategies to ensure these luxury brands are protected with strategies addressing both pre and post litigation phases.

Marcia’s legal expertise is complemented by significant experience in mediation, having completed advanced mediation training through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University. She is skilled in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques, including mediation, and has successfully negotiated hundreds of settlements, avoiding costly litigation for her clients. Marcia regularly integrates her mediation experience into her litigation practice, particularly in bulk mediations and settlements.

Marcia maintains good working relationships with opponents (where possible) to avoid the unnecessary costs and delays that can be associated with pointless animosity. However, she is also an experienced litigator and welcomes the opportunity to try cases when that is the best option forward for the client.

Previously, Marcia was Senior Counsel at Bowman & Brooke LLP (June 2022 to March 2024), focusing on fraud cases in warranty litigation (Honda, Kia, Hyundai). She also served Of Counsel for Gates Gonter Guy Proudfoot & Muench LLP (2016-2022), managing warranty litigation defense in state and federal courts, including complex JCCP and class action matters (Ford, FCA/Stellantis, Kia).

Additionally, Marcia held a secondment position at Kia Motors America Inc., where she managed warranty litigation cases from an in-house position and eventually trained her replacement to do the same. Her deep understanding of both litigation and mediation ensures a comprehensive approach to client representation and dispute resolution.

Marcia holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and a B.A. in English from Middlebury College in Vermont. She loves hiking with her rescue dog George, tennis, cooking, travel, time connecting with friends, and live music events.
